Talk:Archives/Ichigo Mashimaro discussion

Before you put more work into this article, hold off for a day or two while I check with Sat on whether we're going to include non-h series or not. --feather 19:00, 11 October 2007 (PDT)

I don't intend to start writing articles on Death Note, of course, but Ichigo Mashimaro is quite popular in the lolikon community. Unintentionally, perhaps, but h-doujin spinoffs and pictures abound. What's more, just because there isn't any explicit nudity or penetration in a work doesn't mean no one's interested. Just look at the Cute Thread in the LAH picture forum. Many times I wonder what series certain pictures come from and can't find out. I personally would find articles like this useful.
SAT himself, I think, has said we can branch a little. In my opinion non-hentai but very-loli works should play in. Then again, I guess we should wait for the word of the man himself. *pauses* --Louslet 21:53, 11 October 2007 (PDT)
"Series directly, probably not. At best, loli characters from a series. They can look up the rest on wikipedia."
---Sat
Pretty much my thoughts. LAH Wiki is for hentai and articles intended to orientate noobs (like the list of anime terms, etc.). As such, deleted. I will move the talk for future reference. --feather 00:32, 12 October 2007 (PDT)
Well then, adieu. I guess the purpose of this wiki isn't in line with what I thought it was. --Louslet 17:27, 12 October 2007 (PDT)
It's a hentai wiki. That's explicit. It's here to provide info on things like h-doujins, doujin circles and hentai genres, things that AREN'T going to be covered by other general wikis like Wikipedia. There's no reason for there to be non-h content, because it can be found elsewhere. It's work that simply doesn't need to be done, because it's already been done. The best a series article could be is a list of doujinshi, and that is better handled as part of a larger list. --feather 19:06, 12 October 2007 (PDT)

I must comment here, it was a little inappropriate to just delete it, imo. While I said articles on series are not really needed, I still guess things with loli fanservice might be included, even if, as I mentioned previously, single character articles would probably be preferred. As for leaving us, Louslet, I would like to ask of you to reconsider. You have been a great help. --Sat 17:52, 12 October 2007 (PDT)

I don't mean to be over-reactive, Sat. The deletion of this article doesn't bother me particularly. It might have been a good decision, even. But I've worked on several wikis in the past, and a few things ring warning bells here (my fault, sometimes). When a young wiki community focuses more on filtering content than creating it, more on article discussion than on articles themselves, its project can become an effort sink.
I'm not abandoning this place in a fiery blaze of anger. I'm very interested. I just want to take a passive role until I see how the chips fall. Could take a week, a month, a year. Good luck. --Louslet 21:46, 12 October 2007 (PDT)
I'm only trying to avoid wasted effort better spent on relevant articles. Like every OTHER one you've started so far. At this point, you're the hardest working person on the wiki (there are really only three or four active users), and for time being if you're passive then it's not going anywhere.
Although, on further reflection, it might be convenient to maintain series article as links to characters and doujinshi. --feather 22:38, 12 October 2007 (PDT)
